Fishing in World of Warcraft can be substantially the same as fishing in real life, many hours spent watching a lure or a float rises and falls in the water. You can fish in almost all bodies of water, but fishing in areas that are your skill level will give you more likely to catch the type of fish you can use.
Why waste hours of fishing?
Well the easy answer to this question is mainly for fish! Raw fish can be consumed to replenish low levels of health can be used by hunters as food for their animals, cats in particular love to eat fish.
However, the combination of your fishing skill with your cooking skills can allow you to cook the fish in tasty recipes that not only improves health, but can give you various “well fed” buffs too. These improve as the skills in your chosen profession world of warcraft improve, culminating in the “Fish Feast” recipe that allows you to give a party at your party, which not only restores health and mana, but gives also a “well fed” buff that gives additional attack power, spell power, and endurance of one hour.
In this world side of the profession Warcraft, you should go for the most sought after fish. Some fish are highly sought by alchemists for some potions. Other much rarer fish will make money or at the Auction House or by selling to a merchant.
For example, Deviate Fish tend to be very popular, because when cooked they give a temporary buff that turns the eater into a ninja or a pirate Human Rights for an hour. If you are a non-human characters, some of your emotions will also change to mimic those of humans too.
While secondary professions are not nearly as much attention as the primary, they can be very useful for characters to learn. If you did not learn as you leveled, it is well worth it to go back and learn now to improve your game play top level.
